Welcome

I have always enjoyed all kinds of art, but it was when I first picked up my camera and snapped an image that I began to discover my true creative passion. It is a humbling and inspiring privilege I have to document the tender moments between parents and their children, the sweet innocence of a newborn, the joy of childhood, and the intensity of life. My “moment of magic” occurs when I deliver the photos and hear a quiet ‘gasp’ that lets me know I’ve captured a truly cherished moment that will become a family treasure for years to come.

The best kind of family

The best kind of family to photograph is the one who isn’t afraid to have a little fun and let their personality shine right through.  Today, I got to photograph one of those families.  Meet the B. family.

A. and her dad.

And I have to share the shot of T. below.  I bargained with him that if he would do the poses I asked him to do, he could choose a pose and I would shoot it.  He chose to jump off of a rock doing air guitar.  And by the size of that smile it was totally worth it.  I hope you love it T.!

Thanks B. family for putting up with the cold day.  I am so excited for you to see the rest of the pictures!!

The perfect fall setting

I just had to sneak in this photo even though I am so busy.  I just love the colors of fall and was so happy to find this perfect setting for my session today.

I love Seniors

Seniors are so much fun to photograph.  They don’t run away from me and I love getting to know them.  Fun times.

To K:  I hope you had a great time and love your picture.  I can’t wait to show you my favorite shots.

Before and after

Meet E.  He is such a sweet toddler and I had the opportunity to photograph him today.  These two photos show how things started out and how it ended.  Photographing toddlers is usually exhausting for the photographer, but all of that running away from the camera must be tiring for the little ones too.

L, I hope you love your sneak peek! I know you are going to be thrilled with the rest of the photographs.

Holiday Cards

I am so excited to announce I am now offering beautifully designed holiday cards to my clients.  These cards are not printed like the photo cards you buy from discount stores.  They are printed front and back on linen or watercolor paper and include envelopes. Each card can be customized, including the colors and the text, so that they are exactly what you want.  A package of 24 cards starts at $55.   I will be adding a new section on my website this week that will show all of the options available as well as the pricing.

Here is a sneak peek of what I will be offering:

Don’t wait to schedule your appointment.  Holiday sessions must be scheduled by the first week of November so that all orders can be placed in time for the holiday rush.

I appreciate your patience

Things might seem slow on the blog lately, and I promise that I have a good reason, well more like a bad reason, lol. I have suffered every digital photographer’s worst nightmare . . . a hard drive failure.  I have been without a computer for a little bit and it has been awful.  I felt like half my brain was gone.  Thank the stars, that I now have it back.  I have been undertaking the enormous task of reinstalling everything and reorganizing all of my files (20 hours and counting . . .).

Unfortunately, I have lost some data, including all of my emails from my clients.  If you have emailed me prior to today, please email me again.  I appreciate your help.

There is no need to worry about your session photos.  I do have all the files necessary to print all orders and to post online galleries.  Sneak previews on the blog will resume shortly.  All booked sessions will go on as scheduled.  I thank you for patience for the next little while.

The perfect place for fall photos in Nashville

I am so lucky to have found a beautiful tunnel of trees to use for my portrait sessions.  I absolutely love all of the different looks that I can get throughout the year.  This photo was taken last week on one of the most pleasant mornings we have had all summer.  Can you imagine what it will look like in the fall with all the color?  If you are interested in having fall photos done with the leaves at their brightest colors, you need to book your session for October.  I have 4 dates left, so don’t wait long to  book your appointment.

A perfect morning by the lake

Some photographs are meant to be black and white, including this one.  There is just something about the expression . . .

P is going to break lots of hearts when he is older.

I love photographing newborns

Newborns are so much fun to photograph, and baby J was no exception. She totally soaked her Dad though, but it was totally worth it to get this shot.

This family shot is another favorite of mine. The sign above them says “All because two people fell in love” so I just had to take a picture with that sign in it. Love it.

Of course, I can’t forget to showcase the new big brother. Mom says that he is adjusting great with only requiring some extra cuddle time with mom and dad. With that darling face, I am sure he is getting all the cuddles he wants.

If you would like to see even more shots of this family, I have added pictures to the gallery on my website as well.
